You are talking to an AI

The chat in the Knobpilot plugin is answered by an AI system: large language models from third-party providers, run through our server. The replies, the chains it builds and the settings it picks are produced by that AI. No person reads your messages to answer them.

What it does

• Reads your request and the recent conversation.
• Reads measurements of the audio passing through the rack (level, tone, dynamics, stereo width). It doesn’t hear the audio, and the audio is never uploaded.
• Picks plugins you own, loads them into the rack and sets their parameters.
• Measures again and tells you what changed and what it measured.

What it doesn’t do

• It doesn’t generate music, voices, samples or any other audio.
• It doesn’t change anything outside its own rack: not your other tracks, faders, sends or automation.
• It makes no decisions about you; it only changes plugin settings in the rack.

It can be wrong

Numbers don’t tell the whole story, and the AI can misjudge a source, pick an unsuitable setting or explain something wrongly. Every change is listed with its old and new value, and you can compare Original, Previous and Current at matched loudness, undo the last change, or open any plugin and set it by hand. Your ears decide.

Your data

Which data the AI receives, which providers run the models and how long anything is kept is in the privacy policy. We don’t train AI models on your data ourselves. During the beta, zero data retention by external AI providers is not guaranteed.

If a reply or a change looks wrong, or you want a person to look at something, write to support. Include the Knobpilot version and what you asked; never send your full licence key.
