What you need.

  • A Mac and a DAW that supports Audio Units or VST3.
  • Your own compatible effect plugins, already installed and licensed.
  • Nothing to buy first: the 14-day trial starts inside the plugin.
  • An internet connection for activation and AI requests.

Choose the plugin format your DAW supports. Compatibility with a particular third-party effect is not guaranteed. Check your setup.

From download
to first idea.

  1. Run the official installer.

Close your DAW, open the official downloaded package, and follow its prompts. For an unsigned beta, read the macOS installation guide before proceeding. If a file is reported as damaged or harmful, stop and check the download with support.

  2. Open your DAW and find Knobpilot.

Restart your DAW so it can discover the AU or VST3. If it is missing, run your DAW’s plugin rescan and confirm the installed format and release requirements.

  3. Insert it on a track.

Add Knobpilot as an audio effect. Scan your installed plugins inside the rack. Start with a duplicate track or a saved project while you get familiar with the workflow.

  4. Start your free trial.

Open the account dialog in the plugin and choose “Try it free for 14 days”: 100 AI credits on this computer. It asks only for your email, no card and no password. Already subscribed? Enter the license key from your purchase email there instead. Signing into this website does not activate the plugin.

Starting the trial means you accept the Terms. The Privacy Policy explains what the trial stores, such as a one-way hash of your Mac’s hardware ID. Questions: support@knobpilot.com.

  5. Tell it what you want to hear.

Play a representative section and describe the source and direction. Try “A warm, dry lead vocal. Soften the harshness and keep it close.” Compare Original, Previous and Current, then refine.

Keep your next session moving.

Include your macOS version, DAW version, plugin format, and the step that failed. Never send your full license key or account token in a support message.
